Credentialing programs are facing a difficult question: how do you stay relevant when the workforce you serve is changing faster than many traditional credentialing models were designed to move? Career paths are becoming less linear. Employers are placing greater emphasis on skills. Candidates are scrutinizing credential value more carefully. AI and other emerging technologies are reshaping job roles, entry-level work, and expectations for how competence is developed and demonstrated. At the same time, certification and licensure programs must continue to protect validity, defensibility, fairness, and public trust. This moderated executive panel will explore how credentialing and assessment leaders are thinking about relevance, value, and trust in a changing workforce environment. Panelists will discuss how programs define and communicate value, interpret workforce signals, respond to changing expectations, and preserve the credibility that gives credentials their value.
