Standardized patient and OSCE assessments are among the most logistically demanding formats in clinical credentialing. This panel examines emerging research into AI driven standardized patients: systems that conduct oral clinical encounters and generate automated feedback and scoring, as both a scalable preparation tool for high stakes assessment and a potential future alternative to in person delivery. Panelists will share findings from active research programs done with medical regulatory and credentialing bodies, discussing how AI simulated cases are designed, how AI scoring is checked against expert raters, and the open questions around bias, consistency, and defensibility that remain before this technology could support higher stakes use. Attendees will get an honest, evidence based look at where this technology stands today.
