Credentials help the public and other stakeholders identify individuals who have met professional standards. To maintain the value and credibility of a credential, assessments must remain aligned with current practice. Currently, rapid technology development is reshaping professional work and accelerating the need for testing programs to generate timely evidence supporting assessment relevance and validity, This session explores three common approaches to translating professional practice into assessment evidence: SME meetings, Practice Analysis Studies, and Rapid Blueprinting exercises. Participants will compare the strengths, limitations, and evidentiary value of each method and learn when to use them individually or in combination. Through practical examples, participants will gain a framework for selecting approaches that support assessment validity, professional relevance, and program agility in a rapidly evolving professional landscape.
