Name
Embedded Linking Designs: Reporting Two Measures for the Price of One Test
Description

What if one testing event could deliver more insight without adding testing time? This session brings together K-12 assessment leaders to explore embedded linking, a powerful design that integrates high-quality items from supplemental measures into an operational assessment. With rigorous psychometric methods, a single administration can support reporting on both the primary test and additional measures at the student and aggregate levels. Presenters will explain how embedded linking works, what it requires operationally, and where it can create value. Examples include the Lexile Framework for Reading, the Quantile Framework for Mathematics, XXXX, and YYYY. Attendees will leave with a clearer view of how embedded linking can reduce assessment burden, expand score meaning, and help schools and programs make more informed decisions from the testing they already conduct.
