Name
The Future of Assessment: Preparing for 2050 in an AI-Driven World
Description

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming assessment. AI can now generate content, evaluate responses, provide feedback, and perform at levels comparable to highly educated professionals on some credentialing and licensure exams. As AI becomes embedded in learning and work, the assessment community must ask: what should assessment look like in the future? This interactive panel will explore how assessment may evolve over the next 1, 5, and 25 years. Panelists will discuss the future role of exams, AI-assisted evaluation, continuous evidence collection, digital portfolios, and other emerging approaches to demonstrating competence. The discussion will also examine how expectations for validity, fairness, security, transparency, and trust may change in an AI-enabled world. Attendees will leave with practical insights, strategic questions, and actions to help their organizations prepare for the future of assessment.
