Adventures in Usability: Practical Tips for Familiar and Novel Applications
Speakers
Description
Designers make a lot of assumptions when creating, whether it’s a new type of screen-based assessment, a digital app, an ‘old-school’ online product, or a virtual offering. The presenters will start with a general discussion of usability heuristics and accessibility approaches. Along the way, they’ll provide some field-tested examples of tools for improving the user interface (UI) and how they can be adapted for newer technologies.
The presentation will wrap up with best practices to consider when performing usability research. After all, you could design the most awesome experience in the world, but if people don’t understand how to use it – if it is not intuitive and accessible – your users won’t buy into it. Attend this session to better understand the importance of usability and accessibility, and how to investigate them from the outset, regardless of the type of assessment product or digital platform you are developing.
