Building Success with Accessible Tests
Daria Moschowsky Katherine Padgett
Description
Does your technology-based test content support braille readers? Many laws and regulations in the U.S. require accessible content for all test takers and guidelines describe how to make content compliant, but how do you know if yours is truly accessible? Come test your skills and experience firsthand what it is like to access test content using a screen reader and refreshable braille display. Stakeholders in all practice areas will gain a better understanding of Section 10.12 of ATP’s Guidelines for Accessibility: when and whether test content should be presented in a paper-based form. Staff from the American Printing House for the Blind will detail options for test delivery and available accommodations to best support braille reading test-takers. The presenters will also share information about a new innovation, the Monarch, which revolutionizes access to braille and tactile graphics.
