Three language testing experts will present evidence of impacts of artificial intelligence in the development and value of language assessments. Since learning and, thus, assessment, are not possible without language, it stands to reason that assessing language development and proficiency is at the core of all efforts in testing. The session will • explore how AI is reshaping the constructs we assess, enabling dynamic, adaptive, and more inclusive measures of language proficiency. • describe and discuss an AI-driven reading assessment that interprets oral reading evidence into actionable insights gained within a short testing period. • provide evidence of how assessment can drive more than a score — it can power meaningful shifts, accelerating language growth and enabling the delivery of clear individualized progress insights that verify transform results into portable, globally recognized credentials. There will be a question and answer period at the end of the presentations.
