Name
Preliminary Learnings from the Launch of a New Exam and New Exam Model
Matthew Schultz Carl Setzer
Description

In 2024 the submitting organization released a substantially modified version of its long-standing examination structure. While maintaining a strong relationship with the prior version, the revision included a departure from the historical requirement that candidates complete the same set of examinations and replaced this with a choice model, where all candidates complete the a set of 3 Core exams, but then complete 1 of 3 optional Discipline exams. Three years of work preceded this change, and that research will be reviewed as to how it impacted the revised test model. Presenters will also discuss external/policy environmental factors that have impacted the profession as well as present findings related to candidate performance since the revision, with a particular focus on how candidates have reacted to the introduction of choice.
