Article-based assessment is an innovative and dynamic approach that blends assessment with life-long learning. In the context of medical continuing certification, three medical specialty boards will showcase how they have designed and implemented such an assessment, each with their unique methodology and perspectives. Discover Board 1’s curation process for distilling complex medical advances into easily consumable format, Board 2’s research on the accuracy of using large language models in answering article-based questions, and Board 3’s deep dive into data-driven evaluation metrics. With presenters’ real-world insights gained from pilots and operational rollouts, session participants will have a rare look into the article-based assessment in action, be engaged with interactive discussions, and explore the possible meaningful use of this assessment type for their own programs.
