Katie Santo is an Innovations Developer in the Assessment Research and Innovations Department at the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). With a background in statistics, she began her career at Mayo Clinic working on cancer clinical trials, where she discovered a passion for leveraging technology to enhance research initiatives and increase efficiency. Over the past 3 years at ABIM, she has applied her creativity and technical skills by building prototypes that advance assessment research and developing innovative solutions to improve workflows. Her recent projects include leveraging AI to streamline parts of the item writing process, building prototypes that showcase innovative item types, and helping maintain ABIM’s scoring system.
