Shannon Karm, Director of English Language Arts Content at ACT, has worked in academic assessment content development for over 24 years. She is experienced in all aspects of ELA assessment development: test design, specifications, and blueprints; alignment to constructs and standards; passage and item creation; internal and external content and fairness reviews; post-administration data analysis; and operational forms construction. She has worked with educators, organizations, and state departments of education to ensure representation and fairness in reading passages and regularly reviews and revises development processes to guarantee alignment with industry standards and best practices.
