Jared Riel is an industrial-organizational psychologist and credentialing leader with 15 years of experience in assessment design and development, certification program management, and industry best practices. He currently serves as the Chief Assessment Officer at the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), where he leads the development, implementation, and quality assurance of high-stakes certification and continuing certification assessments.
Previously, he held leadership roles at the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), where he helped to lead large-scale projects such as the design and launch of longitudinal assessment programs and the transition of test development and psychometric activities from outsourced vendors to an in-house team.
A certified credentialing professional, he has served as an item writer and examination committee member for I.C.E., and actively contributes to several professional organizations, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and the Association of Test Publishers (ATP).
In his downtime, Jared enjoys spending time with his wife and five daughters (triplets and twins).
