Dr. Michelle McCoy has been the Manager of Assessment Design at ELPA21 (UCLA/CRESST) since December, 2016. She holds both a Masters of Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon. In 2020, she completed her doctoral program in Educational Leadership at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Before joining ELPA21 at CRESST, Michelle was an Assessment and Implementation Specialist for the Oregon Department of Education, focusing on K-12 English Language Proficiency. Michelle taught middle and secondary public education, primarily around the acquisition of English for middle grades students. Prior to her work in the field of education, Michelle worked in city government finance and accounting along with corporate sales and operations management. She studied French and Spanish, and also attended French high school in Quebec, Canada.
