Dr. Imelda L. Nava, Ph.D., is a STEM educator dedicated to advancing teacher development and effectiveness in urban school systems. She has worked extensively with pre-service and early-career
teachers as they earn teaching credentials and master’s degrees, guiding them in science pedagogy, action research, and professional identity formation.
Her research focuses on teacher effectiveness, multiple measures of evaluation, and innovative approaches to STEAM education. She has presented at national and international conferences,
including the American Educational Research Association, and has collaborated with education leaders in China and Chile to exchange best practices in leadership development and student engagement.
