Irene Custodio is Digital Lead within the Assessment Design team for Pearson UK leading a team of technical experts focusing on the design, development and evaluation of valid and fit for purpose digital assessments. Irene has over 15 years’ experience in educational research, assessment design and the development of high-stakes digital assessments, with a particular focus on inclusive and accessible assessment design. Irene leads evidence-based activities that focus on the creation of assessment solutions that enable fair and equitable access for learners through a focus on user-centred design principles, accessibility and exploring issues pertaining to test-taker experience, construct validity and modal comparability. Irene also has extensive experience in the delivery of large-scale assessment programmes, for example, delivery of the digital PISA assessments in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
