Speaker Bio
Graham Hudson is a respected and long-standing figure in the educational assessment community, with over 40 years of experience shaping the sector. He has played a pivotal role in many key developments in general qualifications, including the introduction of GCSEs and the National Curriculum at Key Stage 4.
During his time at the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), Graham was responsible for the marking and data collection of Key Stage tests in England. His interest in e-Assessment began at QCA, where he led a UK-wide development programme exploring the use of emerging technologies in assessment—securing several million pounds in funding from HM Treasury to support this innovation.
Following his time at QCA, Graham joined DRS Data Services Limited, where he was part of the team that delivered the one of the first live marking of UK examinations using scanned scripts. This work helped lay the foundation for modern digital assessment practices.
In recent years, Graham has run his own consultancy business, advising organisations in the assessment sector both in the UK and internationally. His consultancy work includes supporting Ministries of Education and assessment bodies in the implementation of assessment technologies and strategic change programmes. He also previously owned a successful business franchise, helping companies improve their sales performance.
Graham currently serves as Chair of the e-Assessment Association, where he has overseen significant growth and forged strong partnerships with organisations such as the e-ATP. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Assessment Committee, a Board Member of the Diocese of Guildford Board of Education and a Board Member of Qualifications Wales.
A sought-after speaker, Graham is passionate about topics including the implementation of development programmes, procurement of e-Assessment and related systems, team leadership, strategic planning, and business development.
