This session explores how formative assessment can drive student achievement by placing continuous, meaningful feedback at the center of learning. Grounded in key principles and research, we highlight how clear goals, ongoing evidence gathering, and actionable feedback support learner autonomy and progress. Drawing on examples from language education, we demonstrate how formative practices can be effectively embedded into teaching. We also showcase innovative digital solutions that adapt to learners’ proficiency levels and provide real-time feedback, enabling students to actively engage with their development. By connecting theory with practice, this session illustrates how formative assessment fosters more responsive, inclusive, and impactful learning—supporting the goal of Building Assessment for Good.
