How assessment results are reported shapes how they are interpreted, trusted, and used. This session is intended for professionals involved in score reporting in certification, licensure, graduate education, and workplace learning contexts. Grounded in efforts to redesign a score report for medical education learners preparing for licensure, the session synthesizes key lessons from the literature and new perspectives from recent research and practice. Presenters will discuss recommendations for tailoring reports to specific user groups, supporting intended interpretations and actions, applying user-centered design, and using iterative, evidence-based development processes. The session will also examine reporting as an integrated system, highlighting the growing importance of on-demand interpretive resources, scalable approaches to user research, and the responsible use of AI. Participants will leave with practical recommendations and actionable strategies for improving score reporting.
