Athena E. Hill, Ed.S., has more than 15 years of experience in education, with expertise in assessment literacy, data-informed instruction, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), special education, and professional learning. Ms. Hill has served as a special education teacher, instructional coach, MTSS Coordinator, Professor of Education, and Senior Professional Learning Consultant, partnering with schools, districts, and state education agencies to strengthen instructional and assessment practices. Prior to joining Verite Educational Services, she served as Director of Professional Learning and Consulting Services for state and strategic initiatives, overseeing the design and implementation of large-scale professional learning programs. In her current role as Project Director at Verite Educational Services, Ms. Hill supports state and local education agencies in developing coherent systems for assessment, instruction, and continuous improvement, including exploration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence to support assessment and educator decision-making. Her academic background includes an Education Specialist degree in Special Education General Curriculum and Elementary Education, a Master of Education with an MTSS Facilitator Endorsement, and a Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood and Special Education with a Reading Endorsement.
