Bharati B. Belwalkar, PhD, is a Senior I-O Researcher at the American Institutes for Research (AIR), where she leads work in competency-based assessment development, practice analysis, and AI-enabled assessment innovation. Previously, she managed test development, validation, employee development, and performance management initiatives for the City of New Orleans. Her research focuses on advancing assessment technologies that accurately measure capabilities and support fair, meaningful professional opportunities. Dr. Belwalkar received the 2024 Innovations in Assessment Award from the International Personnel Assessment Council and is a 2025 William T. Grant Foundation Advanced Quantitative and Computational Scholar. She has authored more than 70 scholarly and professional publications, including work published in Personnel Psychology, Journal of Personality Assessment, and The Cambridge Handbook of Technology and Employee Behavior. She earned her PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University and remains active in professional leadership and service.
