Dr. Jill Bryant serves as Executive Director of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO). Before joining NBEO, she was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of Contact Lens Services at the Duke University Eye Center.

Dr. Bryant has demonstrated a sustained commitment to public health, professional regulation, and clinical excellence. In 2025, the Governor of North Carolina appointed her to the North Carolina Commission for Public Health. She has also served on the Board of the Durham County Department of Public Health and as a Clinical Examiner for the North Carolina Board of Optometry.

A past president of the North Carolina Optometric Society, Dr. Bryant has been recognized for her contributions to the profession throughout her career. In 2014, she received both the North Carolina Young Optometrist of the Year Award and the John D. Robinson Clinical Excellence Award. In 2020, Vision Monday named her among its Most Influential Women in Optical.
