From Clicks to Bricks: Mitigation Through Automated Modality Restrictions of High-Risk Test-Takers
Rachel Hunter Jonathan MacKesson Bryan Friess Jason Bell
Description

This presentation explores an innovative exam security strategy for a well-known Certification Program. It centers on restricting high-risk candidates to in-person testing rather than giving them the option to utilize an online remote environment. Rather than implementing complete program bans, we developed a targeted strategy of modality restriction for candidates with forensic flags or documented misconduct. In partnership with multiple vendors, we automated this process to ensure scalability while minimizing operational overhead. The presentation will share key performance metrics, highlight operational challenges, and examine broader implications for the testing industry. It will also cover the evolution of this framework, including lessons learned, necessary exceptions, and future developments in balancing test security with program accessibility.
