Catherine (Catie) Mintz, PhD, is the Assessment Design Manager at the American Board of Ophthalmology. In this role, she assists with the development, scoring, and evaluation of the Board's certification and continuing certification exams. No stranger to medical certification, she previously held roles at the American Board of Pediatrics and American Board of Internal Medicine. She received her doctorate in Educational Measurement & Statistics from the University of Iowa, where her research focused on Bayesian psychometrics and adaptive testing. In her free time, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Little Patuxent Review.
