Nathan Burns, MS, ATC is the exam development manager at the Board of Certification, with more than ten years of credentialing industry experience. In this role with the BOC Nathan directs all areas of exam development including item writer management, item creation and validation, and test assembly and review. Nathan has a bachelor’s degree in science of exercise (emphasis in athletic training), and to a master’s in physical education. Additional certifications he has earned include credentialing specialist from the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) and the Six Sigma White Belt certification. In addition, Nathan is a CRLA Tutor, Certification Level I, and has co-authored articles and presented on topics such as effective item writing, and item writer/SME mentoring for the Institute of Credentialing Excellence, as well as the Association of Test Publishers.
