Name
Invited Pre-Conference Workshop: Quality Assurance in European Assessments: Transparency, Technology, and Citizen Impact
Description

As assessment formats across Europe shift toward more digital and often less transparent methods, maintaining robust quality assurance becomes critical—especially when those assessments influence real-world decisions for individual citizens. Anchored by updates in ITC assessment standards and the EFPA Test Review Model, this session brings together voices from publishing, commissioning, and professional sectors to explore:

  • The evolving international standards, including the European Test Review Model (TRM 2025) and implications for assessment validity and integrity cross-domain relevance from Work and Education to Health and Consumer contexts
  • Challenges and opportunities posed by digital assessment platforms, including AI-driven tools and opaque    proprietary systems
  • The need for clearer accountability around decision-making that impacts European citizens
  • Collaborative roles of publishers, commissioners, and regulatory bodies in strengthening quality benchmarks

The panel aims to provoke a forward-looking dialogue around ethical standards, transparency, and the practical steps needed to uphold fairness and trust in assessment systems across Europe.
