As artificial intelligence becomes embedded in assessment systems, it is no longer something leaders deploy, it has become something we must govern. This interactive, slide‑free session invites test publishing and assessment leaders to explore how leadership accountability changes when intelligence becomes part of the operational infrastructure of assessment. Through facilitated peer discussion, participants will examine practical leadership questions emerging across Europe today: how to preserve assessment integrity as systems become more autonomous; where human judgment must remain explicit; and how governance, validation, and transparency must evolve to sustain public trust. The session focuses on real organisational tensions — between innovation and assurance, efficiency and fairness — and surfaces approaches that leaders are using in practice as AI moves from experimentation into mission‑critical assessment operations.
