Candidate (mis)use of Ai to falsify or fabricate records: What Testing Organisations Need to Know
Description

Artificial intelligence (Ai) has the potential to transform the testing industry by offering groundbreaking new possibilities in test construction, item creation, test proctoring, operational efficiency, and more. However, it is important to note that this evolution also poses risks. The emergence of generative AI increases the ease and efficiency of fabricating convincing medical reports, internship records, transcripts, and other professional letters – complete with logos and signatures. To many, these documents can be nearly indistinguishable from legitimate documents, increasing the challenge in detecting fraud. This session will explore recent, actual examples of fraudulent documentation submitted to testing organisations and share how these were detected. The presenters will share practical strategies and tips for identifying fake or fraudulent documentations and examples of policy adjustments that some test sponsors have already made.
