Donald A. Balasa, JD, MBA, is the CEO and legal counsel of the American Association of Medical Assistants. His areas of legal specialization include professional regulation and credentialing; testing accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and antitrust principles applicable to licensing, certifying, and accrediting bodies.

In past years Mr. Balasa has presented at the ATP Innovations in Testing Conference, the I.C.E. Annual Exchange, the Certification Network Group (Chicago), the Performance Testing Council Summit, and the Council on Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation (CLEAR) Annual Educational Conference and International Symposium.

Balasa received both his baccalaureate and law degrees from Northwestern University and his MBA in economics from the University of Chicago.
